Andaman Islands can be reached in 2 Ways Only.
1. By Availing Flights from Cities Such as Kolkata, Bangalore and Chennai. NO Direct flight from any other cities are currently available as of May 2016. If you are travelling from any other city in India then you will have to reach these cities before arriving to the Capital. Port Blair is the capital city of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. All commercial flights land in Port Blair Veer Savarkar Airport. The airlines that currently operate in the sector of Andaman Islands are Jet Airways, Air India, Go Air and Spice Jet. Flight take approximatel 02:00 Hrs to reach Port Blair.

By Availing Ships operated by Government of India from Chennai, Kolkata
and Vizag. Please note that ships take atleast 3 Days to reach Port
Blair. Ships from Kolkata takes a little more time. There are different
classes in Ships. Tickets for ships can be purchased from shipping
services in these cities. Many fancy ships to the Andaman Islands,
however, it completely depends upon the time you have. If you are coming
on a short vacation then flight is a must. However, if you are coming
for an extended vacation then you can avail ships. Please note that the
ships that operate in Andaman Islands are not cruises that you see in
pictures. Its a Government Ship. Our recommendation to travellers will
be that on your onward journey select a flight and on your return select
a ship. Many times travellers who are not accustomed with Ship journey
feel sea sick thus ruining their trip in the islands. Various timing and
Ship schedule can be checked in the government website at Andaman Ship
Schedule. In addition, ship sailing take place once or twice a week and
is not available every day. The ticket booking opens approximately 15
days prior departure. A form can be downloaded from the Government
website and a booking request can be submitted. Hard copy of the tickets
is a must ot board the vessel.
3. Can we travel to Andaman By Train? - There is NO Way you can reach Andaman Islands by Train from anywhere in the world.
4. Can we reach Andaman By Bus? - NO bus services are available to Andaman Islands. You will have to cross Bay of Bengal Sea either by flight or Ship only.
Passport For Indian Citizens?
NO Passport is required for Indian Citizens. However, you will require permit if you are visiting Jolly Bouy Island, Redskin Island and Cinque Island. To visit Havelock, Neil and Baratang you do not require any permits.
